TikTok Research API alternative for businesses
If you searched for the TikTok API to pull public videos or creator stats for a product, a brand or an agency, you probably hit a wall. TikTok has two public-facing data APIs, and neither fits a commercial use case.
- Research API. Open only to academic and non-profit researchers in the US, EEA, UK, Canada, Switzerland and Brazil. You submit a proposal and an ethics review, and a decision typically takes about four weeks. Commercial users are not eligible. source
- Display API. Returns only the signed-in user's own profile and videos, through Login Kit OAuth. You cannot look up someone else's account. source

What you can pull from TikTok with ScrapeIO

If you are an eligible academic or non-profit researcher, use it. It is TikTok's sanctioned research access, under TikTok's own terms, and it includes data a public-data API does not offer. For companies, it is not an option.
